SRS (Silk Road Songbook) Short Synopsis:

SRS (Silk Road Songbook) weaves songs of resistance into the land, broadcasting women’s distinct, unruly voices on an ancient Eurasian migration route between Istanbul, Tehran, Tashkent, Bishkek, and Xi’an. The songs were generated by collaborators along the route; they chose the landscapes, musical genres, lyrical content. Women’s voices are the dynamic driving force; land is the visual anchor. Their stories disrupt the popular perception of the “Silk Road.”
